Sylvester is a male grooming aesthetic and skincare specialist and runs Tranquilstate Skincare, a purpose-built treatment spa and skincare studio offering a range of treatments tailored towards the male market.
Holding Diplomas in Advanced Aromatherapy and Reflexology, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Skin & Body Therapy from the International Dermal Institute. Sylvester is qualified to deliver more than 20 treatments. Having initially found the industry to be closed to male therapists and limited in the treatments available for men, Sylvester has carved out a place for himself by developing innovative male grooming packages in a space designed to make men feel comfortable.
Prior to establishing Tranquilstate, Sylvester worked as a fitness practitioner across the Caribbean. During his time at a variety of luxury hotels and resorts, his desire to pursue a career in holistic treatment and therapy was cultivated. While working at the Half Moon & Ritz Carlton hotels in Jamaica, the spa staff would practice new treatments on Sylvester, inspiring him to learn more about the industry.
In 2000 he returned to the UK to study for a career in holistic and skincare treatments.
Sylvester is fuelled by his love for his work and his clients, some of whom have been with him for more than ten years and they come from all over the world, visiting Tranquilstate on business trips to London.
Sylvester’s passion for providing the highest level of care shines through in his professional accolades. He has previously been Highly Commended for the Federation of Holistic Therapists Excellence Award in Client Service, an award which derives from independent client reviews.
Before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sylvester volunteered at Whipps Cross Hospital, where he provided complimentary treatments to palliative and chemotherapy patients.
Sylvester is committed to helping people achieve their individual treatment goals and is motivated by seeing his clients happy with their results.
